There are endless lists of things to think about when planning your kitchen renovation, from the layout to fittings and finishes. And then there’s the budget.

With very little information out there about how much a kitchen renovation costs and how you should invest your money, budgeting for your new kitchen can be quite a challenge. With this in mind, we’ve created a responsive kitchen budgeting spreadsheet to help you figure out not only how much you should plan to spend on your kitchen renovation, but also how to use your budget to the best effect.

How to use the kitchen budget template

Our responsive spreadsheet has been designed to ensure that budgeting for your kitchen renovation is quick and easy. All you need to do is follow these simple steps:

1. Download the spreadsheet
2. Input the value of your home into the “Property value” cell
3. Select the type of renovation you plan to carry out from the dropdown list

Once you’ve completed these two steps, the spreadsheet will auto populate and you’ll have an overview of what your budget should be as well as the proportion of your budget you should plan to spend on various items. If you prefer to input your own budget, that’s fine too. The sheet will then work out the total amount that should be spent on each item based on your input.

You can also change the budget allocation percentages and add any extra items you might want to include in your renovation. If you do this, though, be sure to keep and eye on the totals to ensure that you don’t exceed 100% of your budget.
